1. All works
of fiction must be original and not copyrighted by a third party.
In other words, we cannot publish Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel Comics,
etc. stories.
2. Each individual
work will be copyrighted to the writer. The publisher will retain
First Electronic Serial rights. The writer is free to sell or publish
his work elsewhere; however, the publisher reserves the right to
re-publish each work in future issues of GENREations magazine and
other related works.
3. GENREations
Magazine deals in a wide variety of genre fiction but our main focuses
are Adventure, Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi, and just plain unusual "Twilight
Zone" type material. Western and Mystery stories will also be considered.
We are also looking for Pulp, "Doc Savage"-like heroic fiction.
No Romance, please, unless it is a blend with another genre (e.g.,
Horror-Romance, etc.). Blending genres is acceptable and favored
(e.g., the Western-Horror, the Sci-Fi-Mystery).
4. Serial
stories may be considered if the concept is interesting enough.
5. Absolutely
NO explicit sexual material or sexual situations will be considered.
6. Remember
that we are dealing in Short Stories here. No novels please. Stories
should be between 2000 and 8000 words.
|
|
Each issue
will contain between seven and ten works of fiction, so please keep
this in mind.
7. Submission
of work is no guarantee of publication. While we are not (yet) a
paying magazine, we would like to stress that GENREations is NOT
fanfic.
8. GENREations
Magazine is a story-driven web site. As such, we want to stress
quality writing. Stories should be well written and hold the reader's
interest.
9. All submissions
should be spell checked and proofed for grammatical errors. Consistent
grammatical errors and misspelled words are grounds for rejection.
10. Please
make all submissions in MS Word format. If that is not possible,
use a plain text format.
11. Cover
and Interior artwork submissions would be appreciated as long as
they are not the property of a third party.
12. Email
all submissions to the publisher.
It is strongly suggested that all prospective writers interested
in making submissions join our ONElist writer's list. This is used
to keep in touch regarding deadlines, etc. This list is for
writers only. Go to ONElist
to join.
